Voted “Best Show in the World”

For the third time in less than a year, our long-term partner the Puy du Fou was rewarded for its show "Le Mime et L'Étoile", voted "Best Show in the World" in 2024 by the Thea Awards in Los Angeles.

A true artistic and technical feat, this ambitious production aims to reproduce live a period film in black and white, with no filter or artifice between the spectator and the stage. In front of the camera, everything comes to life, from the setting to the 120 characters in the story moving across a moving floor extending over nearly 2 km.

"Le Mime et L'Étoile" takes viewers back to 1914 to witness the shooting of a new film starring Garance, the rising star of cinema, and Mimoza, the young dreamy mime. On set, director Gérard Bideau is convinced that only true love can bring color and sound to silent, black-and-white cinema. But the shoot is about to be disrupted when a dramatic event turns the young mime's life upside down. A show that celebrates the beginnings of the 7th art at a time when the first directors were true explorers.

A sublime water theater is set up for the occasion, with straight jets, flower jets and moving jets providing an impressive diversity of choreography. Water curtains integrated into the central kiosk enhance the effect. The water organ composed of arches continues to dazzle spectators.
