A fountain show in an emblematic district of the city
Aquatique Show created a fountain show and a water tunnel in Keqiao, a historical district of the city of Shaoxing.
A custom-made water show with baroque water effects in the pure tradition of the fountains of Versailles to echo the Chinese culture that appears with strength to visitors in the architecture of the houses and bridges of the district.
A water show to support the development strategy
Over the last ten years, China has undertaken huge projects to preserve the traditional districts of its cities, and the Keqiao district is a good example of it. This policy is also accompanied by the development of modern housing and shops.
The aim of this strategy is to enhance the city's heritage to develop tourism and the commercial offer.
To promote its architectural heritage and the Zhejiang Oriental Canal, the creation of a water show is planned in the center of Keqiao in 2022. Choosing a water show means creating leisure activities for young and old alike. With a schedule of daytime and evening shows, visitors can stop for a moment in the heart of the district and enjoy different fountain shows in an exceptional environment.
This show, which includes our fountain show with light effects synchronised with the music, creates a universal language that everyone can feel in their own way.
In addition to its beauty, this project aims to preserve the memory of the old village while modernising it with a more contemporary facet of Keqiao. In the same spirit, Aquatique Show has created this fountain show with a perfect blend of tradition and modernity.
Composition of the Keqiao water show
Aquatique Show has chosen to create a fountain that is partly inspired by the Baroque period to create a dialogue between traditional French and Chinese cultures. This water show also incorporates more modern effects to allow multitude choreographies performed with all types of music.
The baroque water effects are numerous: pyramids, gyroscopic jets, large peacocks, tulips, and King Lys evoke in turn the art of the garden with flower shapes, the overflow fountain (pyramids) and royalty (King Lys). All our fountains add a baroque elegance to this Chinese village.
The fountain show creates a resonance between traditional Chinese architecture and the art of French fountains and gardens.
In addition to the baroque effects, the installation of moving jets and wings, whose movements are more modern, bring more sustained rhythms to the show, while a line of straight jets links the whole show, presenting a facade of a hundred meters along the river.
The water tunnel for the first time in a river
The Keqiao canal is crossed by its 3 emblematic bridges: the Rongguang, Taiping and Jiedu bridges. To symbolise the idea of the bridge as a passageway, Aquatique Show has created an water tunnel directly in the water for the first time.
This water tunnel is a dreamlike passage that transports visitors to another world, a mythical past, a past almost dreamt of. It opens onto traditional bridges, as if transporting us into a re-invented past.
The water tunnel offers visitors in boats an extraordinary immersive experience, where the continuous movement of the water arches erases all reference to reality. As if weightless, visitors let themselves be carried along, enveloped in a marvellous atmosphere that surprises them and stimulates their imagination. This passage becomes an invitation to dream, providing the same benefits as a contemplative journey, where the mind is free to wander.
