Tornado
Fountain
The Tornado fountain:
the other dancing fountain
In a spirit of perpetual renewal and to support the evolving desires of spectators, Aquatique Show has created a new fountain show totally different from the "Magic of Water" dancing fountains with of course the possibility of performing shows, but also new ways to amuse and entertain the public.
A real fountain water show
The Tornado Fountain offers a range of water effects and a type of installation that allows you to create water shows day or night.
Aquatique Show designed the Tornado fountain according to two initial operating criteria:
Water effects suitable for use under strong, natural light
The use of our underwater Aquapro led 2 projectors to have an infinite and warm range of colors, multiplying the possibilities of choreography.
A fountain water show visible at 360°
Aquatique show has imagined an installation of “snail” shape straight jets surrounded by a crown of arches in order to offer the same show to everyone: a water show visible at 360°
The Tornado fountain:
a real architectural gesture
This fountain was also thought of as an architectural gesture, a totem which marks and sculpts its environment. Simple and recognizable water features to mark the identity of the place; a perfect fountain to integrate urban and landscape projects.
In China for example, whether in Ningbo on Sun Plaza or in Nanning in front of the new shopping mall, the Tornado fountain has made it possible to give a recognizable identity to places in order to set them apart.
An immersive fountain designed like a playground.
The Tornado fountain is made up of water effects which allow the entire pool to be covered by a grid: the fountain water show then transforms into a water playground for children and adults.
The Tornado fountain was also installed at Futuroscope in Poitiers in 2011; it is a permanent attraction in the heart of the park to entertain and refresh children. The cities of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates, Tbilisi in Georgia also chose the Tornado fountain.
The Tornado fountain combined with other water effects
The Tornado fountain is also part of a complete fountain water show in the Aquamall of the Lotte World Department Store in Busan, South Korea, which was entered in the Guinness Book of Records as the largest indoor water show. This show also includes two circular Aqua Graphic water curtains of 2- and 8-meters diameter suspended more than 20 meters high.
The Tornado fountain can be installed indoor and outdoor with a programmed or anemometer-controlled jet height regulation.
The Tornado fountain is available also with a temporary pool for punctual events.
Genesis of the Tornado Fountain
This musical fountain was developed especially for Europa Park (Rust, Germany) in 2004 for a permanent installation at the Colosseo Hotel of the famous amusement park, several times voted best park in the world by professionals from the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions usually abbreviated IAAPA.
The installation context for this new water show was the central and circular square of the Colosseo hotel in the park. In an Italo-Roman spirit, this square, a sort of agora decorated with terraces, overlooks a reproduction of the Colosseum. The Tornado fountain was therefore designed to occupy the center of the hotel square on which each guest can see.
At the heart of our business, the client's request was obviously to create a water show to propose day and night entertainment to hotel guests.
Aquatique Show has therefore designed the Tornado fountain with effects that allow it to be used day and night, and an original installation of water jets allowing to vary the choreographies and thus propose real water shows with music and light. The first version of Europa Park's Tornado fountain integrates underwater PAR 64 projectors with incandescent lamps to create warm, white lighting reminiscent of the urban lighting of Renaissance-style fountains.
The space for the integration of our pumps being limited, and the place welcoming an audience all around the fountain, it was necessary to think about this specific installation of the "snail" shape straight jets in order to be able to vary the figures and the choreographies while having the possibility of nesting the effects pumps more tightly.
From the first start, this water show whose jets rolled up like a snail was reminiscent of a tornado! The Tornado Fountain was born.
